Back in March, there was a quote on your website from Chuck Palahniuk's book, Survivor: "The bad news is we don’t have any control. The good news is you can’t make any mistakes." How does that relate to the album?
Survivor was the book that I was reading when I was recording. I don't necessarily think that it's the best book actually -- kind of feel like it's not of Palahniuk's best. But I thought it had a lot of power. The point of the book is that if everything is all plotted out, if somebody knows the future, then you can't really make any mistakes because it was supposed to happen that way anyway. It's kind of like destiny. That's a little hint of one of the themes of the record.
