Backstreet's back -- all right! Yup, after a mini-hiatus, Brian Littrell, Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, and AJ McLean have come back together as the Backstreet Boys to record and release their fifth US album, Unbreakable. But where's Kevin Richardson? What's the album gonna sound like? And can these boys dance like they did 15 years ago? Read on to find out!
Before recording, did you know how you wanted to update your sound?
AJ: One of the things that we really, really strived to do on this new record was just have fun again. It was very similar to making records of the old days for us. We really wanted to find the sound that we're really known for, but modernize it and update it -- try to be trendsetters, try to be a little bit more on the edge, but also timeless and classic Backstreet with really good harmonies, really great melodies, great lyrical content. Just positive, really good pop songs. That's the one thing that we've always strived to be good at. (I think we are good at!)
