What made you decide to make a pop record?
I consider the music to be ambient pop. It's not straight down the middle pop. Even though I have a classical background, I've been exposed to so many different kinds of music since I left that Children's Choir of the Metropolitan Opera. I really wanted to explore and find the kind of music I could really call my own and experiment in. And I think that I found that. Classical being part of my background gave me so much musical grounding and experience than I could have found on my own.

Describe your sound in five words or less.
I would call it "Ambient pop with very honest, personal, but universal lyrics. And layered vocals that are warm and rich and kind of take you to a place where you can escape." That was more than five words.
