What made you go out for Miss Teen USA?
I'm not really a pageant girl. I haven't been doing it since I was little. It hasn't been my life. I got the brochure about entering my state pageant -- Miss Teen Colorado -- like everyone else on my street, so I decided to apply. And the funny thing is when I applied, it was August 2006. I sent in a picture, and the director called and said, "Great, we'll see you in a month." And I'm like, "No, wait -- the pageant is for 2007. Doesn’t that mean I have a year?" And she's like, "No, because if you win, your title is for 2007." That meant I only had one month to prepare! I did it for fun, really. I love acting, love being on stage, love fashion -- all that kind of stuff, so it really just made sense for me. And I happened to win! And once Miss Teen Colorado wins, she's automatically entered into the Miss Teen USA pageant, so that meant I was already in. And again, I did it for fun. I was just myself the whole time, had fun, and I happened to win again!
