How would you compare your new lyrics to BYOP's lyrics?
With BYOP, we'd write things that we all could get behind and sing along with, so I [wasn't] going to be singing about my personal angst because it's not how 17-year-old boys want to be represented. Now, it's way more personal. I'm trying to stretch myself as a lyricist.

What female musicians do you look up to?
Suzi Quatro is amazing. Patti Smith, of course. All of the Runaways, I love the Runaways so much. Penelope Houston from the Avengers is awesome. Great females don't get recognized as much as males, but I'm equally influenced by males and females.
