Have your feelings toward the breakup changed now that you've had a year to digest?
Of course. For a really long time, it was really painful to think about. But now I've realized that I'm so much happier with where I am now and the work that I'm doing, the things that I'm writing than I was. I just wasn't aware. Sometimes, something that seems like it's the worst thing that can happen can actually be a really good thing for you, and that's how BYOP breaking up was.
Which is harder: breaking up with a band, or breaking up with a boyfriend?
Breaking up with a band, definitely. There's a lot more put into a band than just like, "Oh, I really like this person and fell in love with them." It has more riding on it. Especially for a band like BYOP, it not only was like my passion, it was my job. So it's hard to break up with a band.
