Jemina Pearl is a rare find in a musical sea of Miley Cyrus wannabes. As front woman of otherwise all-guy teen punk band Be Your Own Pet, Jemina rocked harder than most boys we know ever could. So when BYOP broke up last year, we were sad to think Jemina's brand of roaring rock might go extinct. Not so! How does being a solo artist differ from being in BYOP?
It's just hitting me that I have to do press and get my photo taken [alone]. It's like, "Oh yeah, I don't really have a band anymore. I have a solo record." I'm so used to having three boys and me do a photo shoot jumping around, but now I have to figure out how I am without having the band. But it feels really nice. It's like being more grown up.
