Joe's Our Guitar Hero

Oh faithful readers of the Alloy blog!

How I've missed you all since last time. So much has happened…or has it? Who knows? It's 3 in the morning, and I just got back from working on set. What set you may wonder…well I'll tell you, but first let's talk about Kaya. As you may or may not know, Kaya premiered on Monday night right after The Hills, and it was very exciting! Episode two is just around the corner and seriously folks, it only gets better. We gotta make sure this show is a hit because as much as you probably love all of MTV's reality shows (and I know we all watch them, it's OK), having an awesome show on MTV that's actually about music is a really cool thing. So keep watching!

Last time I wrote this blog, I was in Niagara Falls locked in a hotel room with my guitar writing songs for my new album (look for it in 2008). This time, I just got back from shooting my show Ghost Trackers up in Canada, which is coming soon to HBO Family HBO Family.

It's a little hard to concentrate because my Guitar Hero guitar keeps staring at me and taunting me. "NO, I CAN'T BEAT "FREEBIRD" ON HARD, OK?! LEAVE ME ALONE, PLAYSTATION!" Sorry about that -- it's relentless. Speaking of Guitar Hero, the four of us from Kaya got to go to the VMAs this year, and after walking the red carpet and hanging out with Danielle's friend Hayden Panettiere at the Maroon 5 concert, we had a pretty awesome session of GH backstage. Actually, the whole 48 hours we spent in Vegas for the VMAs was pretty awesome and surreal and crazy. Good thing Crossing Coldwater knows how to party. I mean, did you see their Cribs episode? Now that's a party! OK, that's really just a video Justin and I made while shooting Kaya, but that is the actual mansion we shot in. So much fun! Oh man.

I'm totally in love with Kate Nash right now. Sorry, she just came on my iTunes, and I had to comment. It's pretty bad. I think I have to date her. Don't tell her though, OK? That's so embarrassing. If you don't know who she is, check her out here.

On that random note, I'm off to bed. Oh, one more thing: I'm hearing a lot of haters saying they think Kaya is just a rip-off of that show, Instant Star. Well, I'm here to say it's not. I've seen both, and as an actual musician and an avid television viewer, I can honestly say our show hits the nail on the head when it comes to showing the behind-the-scenes of a famous rock band, and it does that with just enough O.C. and a little bit of Entourage, so don't discredit us people. Am I biased? Yes, but only because I love good TV.

That's enough ranting for now. For more pointless rambles by yours truly, check out JoeCast on my website. 'Til next time, good night and have a pleasant tomorrow.
