New Moon, Same Jacob

Hey, fanpires! Fret no more -- it's been confirmed that Taylor Lautner will reprise his role as Jacob Black in New Moon! Phew! "I'm very happy to announce that Taylor Lautner will be playing Jacob Black in New Moon and that he's doing so with the enthusiastic support of Summit Entertainment, the producers, and Stephenie Meyer," director Chris Weitz confirms on Stephenie's website. There had been rumors that since the sequel requires Jacob to be a foot taller and age nine years, that Taylor wouldn't be the right fit for it. But Taylor proved himself to producers by working out -- he told MTV News that he was trying to gain 19 pounds! "I'm truly thrilled that Taylor was the one who proved to the director, to Summit, and to me that he is the best possible Jacob we could have. And I'm very much looking forward to seeing what he's going to bring to Jacob's character this year," Stephenie adds.
