Soldier Boy

James Blunt has never been one to keep his feelings to himself, and at his recent concert in New York, he really let 'em rip! First up: Britney Spears, whom he called "phenomenal artist," despite the fact that too many people focus on whether she's wearing underwear rather her music. "I think when you put the emphasis on her knickers and not on her talent, you lose perspective. It really detracts, as a whole, from things that are really important, like global warming and war," he later told the New York Daily News. "Sending paparazzi to investigate things like this is useless. We're better than that; we have the power to teach and educate. Let's spend our time on that." And James did just that -- during ballad "No Bravery," the former British soldier played a video montage of bombed homes, dead bodies, and smiling children flashing peace signs. "The film was my footage, taken from our vehicles while we patrolled," he said. "I recently had a chance to go back and play for the Serbs, and they were all in on my message. It's great because music is the strongest form of communication, and it was nice to connect with them." At least one celeb has his head in the right place!
