Hi guys! Meg here, blogging for you!
Last night, I fell asleep around midnight. I was having lovely dreams about ice cream and fancy cards. Then this happened: a loud noise woke me. I peered into the shadows surrounding my bed post to determine whom or what I should beat up interrupting my sweet slumbers. I see a bouncy large object darting from one wall of my room to the other. The object speaks...
"Meg, Meg," it shrieks,. "Our record is available on iTunes!!! Ah ha ha ha ha!" The object shrieks and hollers, and pretty soon begins sobbing as it falls to the floor. That object is my sister.
I really, REALLY should have given her a loving and understanding embrace, at least a solid pat on the back, but no -- I deter. My eye lids were heavy. I was really tired. So I mumbled "ugh huh" and let my head plop back on the pillow.
It is now the next day! I am now energized and ready to be enthusiastic with her. "Yes!! Today is the day." It feels like Christmas or graduation or the day I gained my freedom after being "grounded" for three months that one summer! Let's celebrate! Whoo hoo!
I have close friends, bands, and family text me. "So proud of you, Meg. Good job." "Happy CD release day." I even get messages from my own band members. "Cheers to us." This is another chapter in our book. It is another "stop and breathe," "good job" moment. I even broke my calorie intake rules and ate two pieces of pie! Hey, I deserve it all, right?
To all of you who have bought/listened to the record, on behalf of my band and myself, we would like to offer our sincere gratitude. We hope it fills you with all the emotions and more that the MAD crew experienced while we were making it. I feel like the occasion deserves a fresh batch of fireworks, or a parade with furry giant creatures, or something... If it was in my power to do so, and have you all involved, I would. But I can't, again, all I can say is thank you! If you do get a chance to listen/buy the record, please do. We are extremely proud of this moment and would love to share it with as many of you as we can.
Bon voyage,
Meg
