Justin Dishes About The Cast and Crew

Justin here again. One month left until The Invisible opens! I can't freakin' wait. I think it's a real breath of fresh air for the supernatural thriller genre. I'm excited for you all to check it out.

This week, I'm writing about my experience working with David Goyer (God, of all things geeky!) and Margarita Levieva. So here goes...

When I found out David Goyer was going to direct, I knew I really wanted to be a part of the film. Before I met him, I had to remind myself not to frighten him too much -- I'm a huge fan of the Blade series and Batman Begins. What David was able to do with the story and re-envisioning of the Batman mythos was incredible. I was excited to work with him because of his ability to keep the focus on the character in the midst of these very action and suspense-heavy stories. On top of that, he has a real talent for grounding very fantastic and unbelievable concepts in a tangible reality. I mean, come on --when it comes down to it, it's a pretty tough sell to believe a man could dress up like a bat and be a total badass, but that's what David does: he finds the reality in these far out concepts. With The Invisible, he made a difficult role a lot easier because he knows what he wants out of a scene, and he's also open to suggestions. He's also just a cool guy with an encyclopedic knowledge of film and comics -- I had my fair share of geek-out moments with him on-set.

The character of Annie, someone who may or may not (not gonna give much away here -- the puzzle is half the fun of this film!) have something to do with Nick's death is played by Margarita Levieva. Annie is a complicated character -- she's got a tough shell, a seemingly irredeemable person who you become really conflicted about as the story progresses. Margarita did an incredible job and we bounced off each other a lot on the set -- I really felt connected to her. She really has that fierce, wild child in her and it was cool to watch her because she was just so on the edge.
