Wow, what a crazy and amazing week it has been!! I can’t wait to tell you guys all about it. My week started out with the actual video shoot for my single “He Said, She Said." I was so excited. I couldn’t believe it was happening. A video shoot like that is something an artist dreams about forever, so I was definitely pumped up that day. We started really early, like 6 a.m., but I was pumped up with excitement (oh yeah, and caffeine! lol).
So, the shoot was in this cool old hotel building in downtown Los Angeles. So in one of the big old ballrooms they built this big high school set with rows and rows of lockers and a big green screen in the back (that’s where the first shot of the day took place.). The video basically starts off with me in school, and the school kind of transforms into this nightclub where the big dance scenes take place. It was really fun to film, definitely something different than what I’ve done before. I had a blast doing it, and I think it’s going to turn out really, really cool. The shoot lasted a lot longer than anyone thought that it would -- just because it took extra time to set up some of the sets and cameras. So we didn’t end until midnight and I was so exhausted by then, but I was still running on adrenaline. When I finally got home that night though, I literally fell on the bed and went right to sleep!! Haha. Anyway, look out for the video next week! Yay! That was fast, huh? We’re going to premiere it on TRL next week, so I’m pretty excited about that.
Which brings me to my album release week!! Yay!! It’s finally here!! I’ll be in New York for the release, which is going to be very cool. The week is already totally packed tight with everything. I think I’m going to be visiting every corner of New York in just a few days! I’m excited though -- my whole family is going to be out there with me, too. I just can’t believe that it’s here already!!! I will definitely be sending in videos to my YouTube channel all day so you guys can experience some of release week with me. Everyone is also telling me that I have to go into a record store myself on release day on Tuesday and see my record actually sitting in the shelves. I think I will freak out a little from excitement. Haha.
Also this week was the final day of the HSM tour!!! It was very emotional. Everyone was excited and pumped up, but also really sad at the same time that it was over. I can’t believe how fast it went. At the end of the show, the whole cast locks arms and walks off the stage in the back down these stairs. So we’re all in a row with our backs to the crowd. Anyway, one of the guys on the tour was standing at the bottom of the stairs where we come down backstage and took this amazing photo of us all locking arms ending the show with all the lights and confetti and smoke in the background. It’s very cool to have that. After the show, I spent a lot of crying with the cast and crew and being sad that it was over, even though we’re all going to see each other in a few weeks! Haha. The tour just was an amazing experience, on to the next one now I guess!!
Anyway, I’m going to head off now. See you on release day on Feb. 6!!!! I’ll tell you all about New York and TRL next week!
xoxoAshley
