The now-14-year-old actress had been lauded for her work before Akeelah, but it was her performance as a Scripps National Spelling Bee participant that really launched her career. The list of Keke's co-stars would make actors four times her age jealous: William H. Macy, Catherine O'Hara, Angela Bassett, Laurence Fishburne, and Samuel L. Jackson.
