48th Annual GRAMMY Awards

Not even an album flop could stop Madonna. Two years later, she was back with Confessions on a Dance Floor and breaking records left and right. Marking a return to the dance-pop sounds that began her career, the album debuted at #1 in 29 countries, a world record for a solo artist, and scored a Grammy for Best Electronic/Dance Album. Madonna's subsequent Confessions Tour grossed $195 million over a total of 60 shows with 1.2 million people in paid attendance, making it the highest grossing tour for a female artist ever.
