The only logical beginning to this list is the Material Girl herself, Madonna. She's the top earning female singer in the world, according to both the 2007 Guinness Book of Records and Forbes magazine, with an estimated net worth of over $325 million. She's tied Elvis Presley's record of 36 top 10 hits, the most for any artist in Billboard Hot 100 chart history. She's been named the Best Selling Female Rock Artist of the twentieth century by the RIAA. She's won seven Grammy awards. She even has a water bear species named after her! And just last week, Madge was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And even though she's pushing 50, the Queen of Pop isn't looking to be dethroned anytime soon: this April, she'll release her 11th studio album, Hard Candy, and follow it up with a world tour. Whew!
