Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey may not have much credible acting experience under her belt (clearly Glitter wasn't her shining moment), but this powerhouse singer has more to show for herself than just her incredible voice. The normally made-up MC plays a low-maintenance social worker in her upcoming film Precious, and the flick's already getting Oscar buzz. We'd love to see Mariah in more of these intense roles -- we know the girl's got it in her!
