One on One with Amber Tamblyn
Last time you saw her, she was trying on some traveling pants and blabbing with God on primetime, but now Amber Tamblyn is fighting supernatural curses and screaming her head off in The Grudge 2. But, freaking out audiences with horror movies is not where it ends for this actress. Hear what she has to say about fashion, poetry and really bad dates.
Alloy: Tell us about The Grudge 2. How your character works into the sequel?
Amber Tamblyn: My character, Aubrey, is Karen’s (Sarah Michelle Gellar) younger sister. Aubrey finds out from her mother that Karen is in the hospital -- she burned her house down and she's gone crazy. Karen’s husband is dead and that's all they really know. It's a very mysterious situation from our point of view. I go to Japan and get sucked into three different story lines where the Grudge is played out into different people's lives. It's sort of weaved into strange geographical locations.
Alloy: You shot most of the movie in Japan, did you love it there?
Amber: The entire thing was in Japan. It was insane. I was there almost four months, in the beginning of the year. I'd move there. I had this total fantasy about quitting acting and becoming like a DJ. You know, an American female DJ who’s in Tokyo clubs. That would be my heaven. I actually love it there. It was a great filming process. Their nightlife is amazing. Everything about it is great.
