The Marie Antoinettes of Today

You probably learned about Marie Antoinette in European History, but you also might have snoozed through that class. Here's the Cliff's Notes rundown: Marie Antoinette was Queen of France during the mid-to-late 1700s. She was forced to marry Louis XVI at the age of 14 and was crowned queen at 18. Trapped in a marriage with a teenage husband and subjected to cruel gossip, Marie Antoinette was totally overwhelmed and completely miserable. To alleviate her unhappiness, she indulged in the ultimate retail therapy, buying obscene amounts of clothes and diamonds. (She was known for being a super stylish chica.) The queen liked to party, too -- for her 21st birthday, she threw herself a three-day long gambling soiree for her exclusive clique. But it all ended badly for Marie Antoinette, who was guillotined at the height of the French Revolution at the age of 37.

Does Marie Antoinette's story sound familiar? It should 'cause it sounds like the life of many celebs today (well, minus the beheading). Kirsten Dunst may play the infamous queen in Marie Antoinette, but some other stars take the cake for acting like her in real life. Who makes the list? Read on to find out! By Rebecca Silverstein.
