Save the Last Dance 2
October 20, 2006
Taking the lead from the original Save the Last Dance, version 2 throws tons of awesome moves your way. Not only are there more dance scenes this time around, but the soundtrack features the hottest hip-hop stars like Joe, Rihanna, and Ne-Yo -- making his first appearance on the big screen as New York club owner, Mix.
The sequel picks up where we left Sara Johnson -- this time played by Izabella Miko of Coyote Ugly fame. She’s following her dreams and heading to Julliard to become a professional ballerina. Even though she is determined to be the best of the best, she first has to prove it to her competition and herself.
Unable to shake her love for hip-hop that caught hold in the first movie, Sara reluctantly links up with aspiring hip-hop musician Miles Sultana (Columbus Short). When she finally shows off her very un-ballerina-like skills on the club dance floor, he begs Sara to choreograph his hot new project. Inspired by Miles, she is forced to explore a world beyond ballet, causing Sara to rethink her dreams.
Pushed by her dance idol and ballet professor to forget about her new relationship with Miles and focus on perfection, Sara struggles to find her balance. Does she have to give up everything she loves to achieve her goals? After a huge plot twist reveals a secret about Miles, Sara drives him away and vows never to let distractions take her off her course again.
Torn between two worlds, will Sara totally deny her love for Miles and the urban/hip-hop scene and continue down this classical dance path? Or can she find happiness somewhere in between? Check out Save the Last Dance 2 on DVD now!
