Celebrities seem to have the easiest jobs in the world -- they get extended vacations, make mucho dinero, and get to "borrow" designer clothes. Plus, they're paid to go to lavish parties and award shows. (Don't we all want a life like that?) But before they were stars, celebs had regular grueling jobs, just like you. For example, Madonna worked at Dunkin' Donuts, Brad Pitt hauled refrigerators, and Jennifer Aniston waited tables. (Hmm, maybe that's why slinging coffee Central Perk came so naturally to her!) Who else worked their way from the bottom up? Check out how these stars earned their first paychecks!
South of Nowhere hottie, Matt Cohen worked as a salad bar chef at Sonny's BBQ in Tallahassee, Florida. "[It was] the worst job I ever had," he says. "I had to wear an apron [and] a hairnet, and [I] had to walk around for about 10 hours straight, wiping down the salad bar and refilling all the food. I had to work in a walk-in refrigerator, so I was freezing all day long and [was] sick most of my time there."
Before he was hitting the top of the charts, Taking Back Sunday bassist, Matt Rubano was a collections agent. "Calling people up at their most down-and-out to try to get them to pay their overdue bills [was] not a good karma generator," he says. "The good news is that I used all the money I saved from that job to buy myself a bass guitar."
Sometimes, the worst jobs bring you closer to your equally as unlucky co-workers. "The worst job I ever had [was] working at the Sizzler with Steve Klein [guitar player for New Found Glory]," says NFG lead vocalist, Jordan Pundik. "All we'd do is sit in the back and come up with different band names."
