We've heard two different sounds from Philly pop-punk band, The Starting Line. On their 2002 debut, Say It Like You Mean It, they introduced us to their upbeat, fun sound, and we fell in love with the album's breakout anthem, "The Best of Me." Then, 2005's Based on a True Story showcased an angrier, darker side to the TSL's repertoire. Now, two years later, bassist/lead singer Kenny Vasoli, guitarists Matt Watts and Mike Golla, and drummer Tom Gryskewicz are back with their third full-length record, Direction. So what side of TSL are you gonna hear this time around? We scored some time with Kenny to find out.
So what's the "direction" of your new album, Direction?
The direction of the album is basically to find a middle ground between the two records that we made previously and also to get into some neutral territory where we can relate to people on a large level.
