Now That's What I Call Brilliant!
We love ourselves some pop music, but sometimes only indie will do. That's why we're totally stoked that Vice Records is putting out a set of NOW That's What I Call Music-inspired compilation CDs, Entertainment Weekly reports. The series will include songs from some of the most rockin' bands out there: Bloc Party, The Shins, Bright Eyes, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, M. Ward, Cat Power, and Sonic Youth. "We don't really expect indie-rock stores to support this record. It's for the casual fan," says Adam Shore, general manager for Vice Records. ''The truth is, people are not buying records the way they used to. But the popularity of these bands is bigger than they've ever been before. So what we're trying to do here is give more people more reasons to listen to these artists.'' Hmm -- maybe our Mom will start diggin' on Yeah Yeah Yeahs...
