When you signed on to Degrassi, were you nervous to play a gay character? I wasn�t nervous about what are people would think -- I was more worried about, can I do this realistically, can I do this honestly? I just really want to do it properly, especially because it's a teen show. It�s a very vulnerable stage of life, and I don�t want to butcher this thing. When I get those letters [from fans saying that I helped them], it�s really touching. Like, "Wow, I did it right!" I�m glad I helped them with that.

How are you like Marco in real life? Marco's an introvert -- he's more timid and shy, [while] I�m more forward and out there. But I�m also a lot like him because he�s a peacekeeper. If Marco�s friends are fighting, he steps in immediately. He always fixes everything, and that�s kind of how I am in my group of friends. Everyone comes to me, and I try to keep the peace.
