Awards season is well underway! With the announcement of the Oscar noms last week, we got to "oooh" and "ahhh" at all the possible winners, but last night's SAG awards brought more gold to Hollywood and even more Oscar teasers! Meryl Streep won for best actress in Doubt, but she had doubts about her evening attire! "I didn't even buy a dress," Meryl said, wearing black pants. "I'm really, really shocked." She went on to say that "There is no such thing as the best actress. I am so in awe of the work of the women this year -- nominated, not nominated -- so proud of us girls. Everybody wins when we get parts like this," So true, Meryl!
Other winners included Kate Winslet, for her supporting role in The Reader, Sean Penn for best actor in Milk, and Heath Ledger earned a posthumous trophy for his role as the Joker. In the world of TV, Tina Fey earned outstanding female actor for 30 Rock, and the show took home best ensemble comedy series, as well. Tina dedicated her trophy to her daughter Alice, "the funniest person in my family," she said.
