Is hitting the gym number one on your list of New Year's Resolutions? Ashley Tisdale spills her exercise secrets to Shape mag and confesses that frequenting the gym "felt like torture." We hear ya, Ash!

So how did she kick her couch habit? She always enjoyed working out when it involved dancing during HSM rehearsals, but the gym just wasn't her scene until her cute trainer came into the picture. "He's cute, which makes it fun," Ashley says. "And he never lets our exercise sessions get boring." She does an hour-long workout three or four days a week, which consists of 30 minutes on the elliptical and 30 minutes of weight training and core exercises to help strengthen her back since she injured it on the set of HSM.

But the biggest change in her workout style has been thanks to her newfound attitude towards the gym. "Now before I work out, I think, 'I love exercise' -- and it works." We're def going to try out her mantra in '09!
