Britney Spears had one heck of a night last night at the VMAs! After getting snubbed 16 times in the past, she swept this year's show, winning all three categories she was nominated in: "Piece of Me" won Best Female Video, Best Pop Video, and Video of the Year. What a difference a year makes! But despite the fact that the wins were a long time coming, Britney kept her acceptance speeches short and sweet. "I'm speechless. Oh, my goodness, thank you!" she said as she picked up the Moonman for Best Female Video. "I first wanna thank God for blessing me like this. My family ... my two beautiful boys for inspiring me everyday. And my fans, this is for you. Thank you so much!"
While it was the 25th anniversary of the VMAs, the show was pretty tame. Host Russell Brand made jokes about the Jonas Brothers' purity rings, and in what was sadly the most shocking moment of the night, Jordin Sparks blasted back while presenting an award onstage with John Legend. "I just have one thing to say about promise rings," she said, off-script obviously. "It's not bad to wear a promise ring, because not everybody, guy or girl, wants to be a slut." Ha!
