Star Magazine says he cheated, US Weekly claims it's all her fault, and Life & Style Weekly reports it's because of her dad's oh-so-controlling ways. All in all, it hasn't been a good week for Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, who are featured on three different mags with claims that they're secretly kaput. Normally, we'd feel bad (OK, maybe only a little bit) for this dynamic duo, but the reality is, the reason no one's heard a peep of protest (Not even a "no comment"? What is this world coming to?) from the couple is reportedly because Jessica's dear ole' dad, Joe Simpson sold her down the river for $200,000 bucks. Radar magazine reports that Joe agreed to an exclusive deal with OK! mag a few months ago, and it's been biting these Newlyweds in the butt ever since (given all the celeb editors feel slighted by the lack of Simpson love). "US used to have a spectacular relationship with Jessica, right down to having their fashion editor style her for major events and photographing the whole process,” says a source. "he also had a great deal with People, who put her birthday party on their cover with all sorts of flattering photos inside. When Joe sold her out to OK!, he gave up her chance to work with anyone else and now she’s paying for it."
