Coldplay and All Their Friends

What'd you do last night? Alloy was rocking out at the free Coldplay concert at Madison Square Garden! (So was Kirsten Dunst, who we spotted wearing a plain black tee, dark jeans, and a Chanel bag. And we had better seats than she did!) OK, back to the important stuff. It was a pretty amazing show -- Chris Martin and company played all their past hits, including "Trouble," "Clocks," and "In My Place," as well as pretty much the entirety of their new record, Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends.

Here are some of our fave moments:
-- Going into "Viva La Vida," Chris said, "Somehow it's made it to number one in your country. It just goes to show that with good marketing and a handsome bass player you can achieve anything."
-- They played "Yellow" from the back of the Garden, and during their stroll back there (which they did through the audience), Chris quipped, "This is what we call the walk of shame."
-- Back on stage during "Fix You," Chris forgot the words to one of the verses and adlibbed lines like "When there's lyrics to old songs you don't know" and "It doesn't matter when everyone got in for free." (Number of times Chris joked about the show being free or there being no refunds: Three -- and we laughed every time.)

All in all, a great preview to the band's summer tour. The only downside to the show was that they only played for an hour, but we think we got what we paid for…
