What's with Miley Cyrus and the inappropriate photos?! The Hannah Montana star is featured in June's Vanity Fair, and there's a picture of her wearing nothing but a sheet! "I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed," she said in a statement. "I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about."

A Disney Channel spokesperson has charged that the mag took advantage of the young star, saying, "Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines."

But Vanity Fair says that Miley and her parents were 100 percent aware of what the pic, taken by famed photog Annie Leibovitz, would look like. "Miley's parents and/or minders were on the set all day," a magazine spokesperson said in a statement. "Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley." And in the article, Miley is quoted as saying, "I think it's really artsy. It wasn't in a skanky way. Annie took, like, a beautiful shot, and I thought that was really cool. That's what she wanted me to do, and you can't say no to Annie. She's so cute. She gets this puppy-dog look and you're like, 'OK.'" Hmm…
