According to reports, Jess is currently in D.C. lobbying for more moolah for Operation Smile (a group that travels the world performing free surgeries on children with facial deformities), and when her presence was requested at the White House, she declined. "It's never been a problem for Bono," snipes a Republican spokesperson. "I find it hard to believe she would pass up an opportunity to lobby the president on behalf of Operation Smile." Hey, maybe the prez should had tried belting out "She Will Be Loved" to woo her on over. Rumor has it, that works in a pinch.
