Driving under the influence? Stupid, stupid, stupid. But Mischa Barton insists that she's pretty "academic." Huh?

"I went to public school in New York until I was about 15, so I had a definite school experience, the whole nine yards," she tells Fox News. "But I loved school, though. I was actually really academic, so I liked it ... it was a lot of fun." Likely to prove her point, she even used the phrase "temporary kinetic energy" in the interview when describing the feeling she gets from making movies. Ooooooh!

We don't know if we buy the whole "I was a nerd in high school -- really!" spiel, but Mischa did do one smart thing: at the Sundance premiere of her latest movie, Assassination of a High School President, she drank only water and left the party in a chauffeured car.

You Say!
