heir press people say one thing, but Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson's actions say another. As gossip continues to trickle in from last weekend's MTV VMA awards, it's obvious that this gruesome twosome was there to be seen -- but not much else. According to the New York Daily News, these former Newlyweds were spotted fighting over having to walk the red carpet together. "Are we gonna do this together?" Simpson (minus her wedding ring) was overheard asking her hubby with irritation, as her spouse just shrugged indifferently. If that wasn't bad enough, other sources report the couple ignored each other once they hit the VIP section, and that later Jessica flipped out when the wrong music was played at a party she and her sis, Ashlee were hosting, while Nick made it a point to give Bam Margera the cold shoulder (even though Nick and his wife unit have been busy denying anything happened between her and the MTV star). "Bam left after, like, two minutes," says a fellow partygoer. "If they're really all supposed to be one happy family, why wouldn't they say hello?" Our thoughts exactly. So our question is this, kids: Is it better to fake like you're still together for the sake of good press, or set the record straight for your fans (who've put all that mad cash in your pocket) and walk away with your heads held high?
