Have you noticed that Lance Bass has been in a bunch of gossip articles lately? Have you also noticed that every article that mentions him also mentions something about his connection to Britney Spears? Coincidence -- we think not.
Lance, stop using Britney to get press!
Now that we got that out of the way, here's how it all started:
In Lance's memoir, Out Of Sync, he talks about Britney's relationship with his fellow N'Syncer, Justin Timberlake. "At the time, she struck me as just this adorable little teenage girl at a perennial slumber party -- staying up late and having lots of fun," Lance writes. "She showed no signs of the turmoil she would eventually encounter, maybe because she was so in love with Justin she thought it was going to last forever… She seemed like the perfect girlfriend, especially when she wore her pajamas and hung out with the boys." And that's the excerpt he gave to magazines like Us Weekly. Uh, it's his memoir, but that has nothing to do with him! Hmm, maybe it's 'cause people are much more interested in Britney and Justin than him…
And in a recent interview with GQ, Lance talks about how Brit-Brit was one of the first people he came out to because he "felt bad for her," but that night was the last time they spoke. "It was the night of her first wedding, actually. I was in Vegas with her, her dancers, her manager, and my boyfriend at the time," Lance tells the mag. "Britney was upset about what she had done. I felt bad for her. I knew she was about to go through a lot of crap. I felt the need to share something. So I sat her on my bed, and I'm like, 'Well, I'm gay!'" Lance describes Britney's reaction as "surprised," and that despite his trying to talk to her, she won't. "She's my neighbor in Beverly Hills. She lives next door," he says. "I tried to get in touch with her - I wanted to be that friend to help her."
Right, or that friend to use her…
