It's splitsville for Laguna Beach's Stephen Colletti and Heroes' Hayden Panettiere!

"Their breakup has been a long time coming," a source tells Us Weekly. And she seemed way over ex at the VMAs this weekend (when the magazine asked where the Stephen was, she wrinkled her brow and said, "I don't know. In California?"), Hayden remains diplomatic about the breakup. "We are still very close friends and talk to each other frequently," she says. "We appreciate and support each other's careers." Translation: I'm so over him -- bring on the boys!
