In Ashlee Simpson's video for "Invisible," she plays a kick-butt boxer, but on Sunday night, she needed some protection of her own.
Ash, Dadager Joe Simpson, BF Pete Wentz, and a small entourage, including Gym Class Heroes MC, Marc DeJesus were trying to leave the Decaydance/GQ party when the bouncers wouldn't let Marc through, the New York Daily News reports. So Pete flipped out, screaming, "What are you doing? This is my [bleeping] car! I paid for this [bleeping] car," and demanding that his friends be escorted to a waiting SUV.
But the bouncer wasn't having any of it. (Apparently, getting a VMA for Band of the Year doesn't exempt you from getting whooped.) The doorman pushed Pete, which knocked lil' Ash against a wall. After checking to see that his girl was aight, the bassist started throwing punches at the security guards (who were more than a tad bigger than him). Even Papa Joe joined in the melee, later telling the newspaper, "When somebody messes with my baby, then it's over." Fortunately, no one was injured during the scuffle.
When they got outside, the entire crew threw a Kanye-inspired fit, Pete spat on the wall of the club, swore he's never go back there, and yelled "[Bleep] this place"; Ash tried to swipe a fan's camera when he took a pic of her and Pete; Low blow, Joe -- not everyone has famous daughters to rely on for cash!
