Thursday night was a special evening for us 'cause we were at the Justin Timberlake concert, but it was even more extraordinary for Nicole Richie -- BF/baby daddy, Joel Maddenreportedly proposed to Nic that night! (The Good Charlotte frontman had opened for JT that night, too.)

Good Charlotte performed at Hot 99.5's Lil' Black Dress Party in Arlington, Va., on Friday, and after the band's set, morning show DJ Kane told the audience, "He got engaged yesterday. Congratulations, Joel!" While Joel didn't respond onstage, Kane says when he congratulated Joel earlier that evening, the rocker said, "Thank you so much," People reports. And that's not all! When Joel was on Live! With Regis and Kelly that morning, Regis asked, "You're going to present her, maybe, with... A little ring, or something?" to which Joel replied, "I was hoping it would be a surprise, but now..."

A surprise? In Hollywood? Pfft -- not a chance!
