Gwen Stefani's escape to Malaysia won't be so "sweet" -- the National Union of Malaysian Muslim Students is fighting against the show August 21 show there. The group, which includes 10,000 students, is anti-Gwen because her "indecent dressing and obscenity" clashes with local Asian and Islamic values, Reuters reports.

"Her video clips promoting the event are too obscene," says Mohamad Hilmi Ramli, the group's president. "We want the organisers to cancel the concert, failing which we will ask the authorities to intervene." Echoes the group's vice president, Abdul Muntaqim, "Her performance and her attire are not suitable for our culture. It promotes a certain degree of obscenity and will encourage youth to emulate the western lifestyle." Where's the Love. Angel. Music. Baby.?!

Update: Gwen will perform in Kuala Lumpur, but she must follow the local code of ethics for foreign artists, the Associated Press reports. (Rules for performing in Malaysia state that female performers must be covered from the top of her chest to her knees, that no jumping, shouting or throwing of objects onstage or at the audience is permitted, and that performers cannot hug or kiss, or wear clothes with obscene or drug-related images or messages.)

"Gwen Stefani has confirmed that her concert will not feature any revealing costumes. She will abide by the Malaysian authorities' guidelines to ensure that her show will not be offensive to local sensitivities," explains the show's sponsor, Maxis Mobile. To ensure Gwen's compliance, enforcement officials for the Culture, Arts and Heritage Ministry will monitor the show.
