How's this for perfect timing -- Ja Rule and Lil' Wayne were both arrested for possession of .40-caliber pistols last night in New York City, TMZ reports -- separated by one hour and a few blocks.

Around 10:30 p.m, Ja Rule's car was pulled over for excessive speeding and expired tags. (The gun was found when cops searched the vehicle.) Ja, his driver, and a woman in the car were all taken into custody on charges of criminal possession of a weapon.

Then, Lil' Wayne was detained by authorities when he was "observed" smoking illegal substances in his tour bus. (He had just finished playing a concert.) Police searched the bus, found the gun, and arrested him for criminal marijuana possession and criminal possession of a weapon.

Do we smell a Ja Rule/Lil' Wayne collaboration in the future?
