What is it with singers who think they can act? Katherine McPhee is the next songbird to follow the cliché with The Last Caller. Katherine stars in the indie dark romantic comedy as an egocentric woman who's, yawn, looking for love and meaning. And alas, there's no singing involved in the movie.

"This is the first thing that I read that I really wanted to do," Katherine says. "I'm up for a couple of big studio projects, but they weren't starring roles. I wanted to start off doing something a little different. It's something that a lot of people wouldn't expect me doing."
