In Jordin Sparks' official bio on the American Idol website, the 17-year-old singer denies that she never had any formal vocal training. But a woman named Melissa Black is calling her bluff, telling Star that she lead Jordin in "nine months of intense vocal work" back in 2004. "I knew she wouldn’t take long to perfect her craft because she was so good," the slighted vocal coach says.
Still, Melissa was shocked when the Idol winner neglected to mention those nine months of lessons in her story. In fact, she says she was "hurt for a week" over the omission. (Hmm, maybe Jordin had amnesia?) "Jordin didn’t have to mention my name, but at least acknowledge you had training," she says. "But I've moved on, and I hold my head up high."
C'mon, Jordin -- lying isn't something to Idolize
