Last month's Virginia Tech shootings inspired R. Kelly to write "Rise Up," a song about healing in the aftermath of the devastating event. He wrote the song, which includes lyrics like, "Rise up, when you feel you can't go on, rise up, and all of your hope is gone, rise up, when you're weak and you can't be strong," while watching the horrific events unfold on TV while he was heading to a performance.

Available for purchase digitally on May 15, 100 percent of the net proceeds will go to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund, which provides assistance to the victims' families and grief counseling for those affected by the massacre.
