Tennessee Doesn't Heart JT

Everyone loves a hometown hero -- everyone except for the state of Tennessee, that is. While the state legislature was prepared to honor its native Justin Timberlake for his successful music career, that resolution has been struck down harder than Brandon Davis.

The proposal, presented by state senator Ophelia Ford, reads:
"Be it resolved...that we hereby honor and commend Mr. Justin Timberlake on his highly successful music career and for his meritorious service to the State of Tennessee and extend to him our best wishes for every future success."

Pretty harmless, right? Wrong! Republican senator Raymond Finney took issue with the bill and removed before it reached the legislature. "It's not something I want my name on," he told the Associated Press. Huh? Apparently, Senator Finney takes offence to the sexual lyrical content of JT's "SexyBack" and "Rock Your Body." Major downgrade!

Well, if it's any consolation, Justin, every day is JT Day at the Alloy offices. Come stop by and check it out, OK?

You Say!
