We interrupt this gossip blog for a special announcement from Alloy's Senior Editor, Jenn:
It was junior year of college, and John Mayer was standing 6 feet away from me. I was in love with the humble star as he crooned that my body was a wonderland. Thanks, John. Now two albums, a mess of giant hair, and a smiling Simpson attached to his hip later, I've moved on. BUT I was not about to turn down two free tix to see my ex-make believe boyfriend take on Madison Square Garden for the final show of his tour.
Like I said, I had kinda given up on the guy, but he was actually awesome. He played one of my favorite songs of all time, "Why Georgia," then hit up most of the tracks of his latest album, Continuum. Biggest surprise of the night? Alicia Keys sprang onto stage to sing "Gravity" with John. Granted, it was no "**** in a Box", but they were still a great combo.
After the show, John forgot to invite me to his party at Stereo with his No. 1 tour bus lovin' fan, Jess S. Sigh. I was hurt and disappointed, but the concert was so good that I'll remain a reformed John Mayer fan.
