Not An (American) Idol

If you were hoping that Dallas' Akron Watson would win American Idol, you might be out of luck. The A.I. contestant has reportedly been "disinvited" from the show's Hollywood round, according to MSNBC.

A few days before he was scheduled to leave for L.A., Akron got a call from A.I., saying that he would not be competing anymore. When Akron asked why he was getting cut, the A.I. rep said, "Well, I'm not really sure," and told him to tell people that he'd be a substitute contestant.

A possible reason for Akron's dis? His shady past. During an interview after Akron's 2006 audition, an A.I. film crew came to interview him for a feature that would air during the show, according to MSNBC. During the interview, Akron talked about his past, including the fact that he pled guilty to misdemeanor possession of marijuana in 2003.

Akron isn't the only AI contestant to have a police record though. Bo Bice was arrested in 2001 for felony cocaine possession and in 2003 for marijuana possession and other charges. Current Hollywood round contestant, Ashlyn Carr was arrested last year after confessing to putting sugar in an ex-BF's gas tank, The Houstonian Online reports. Other Idol offenders include the Brittenum twins, Corey Clark, Donnie Williams, Scott Savol, and Thomas Daniels. Boy, do they know how to pick 'em!
