Most parents are totally proud of their offspring and parade them around 24/7. (See: Gwen Stefani.) Not Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise. While Suri "made an appearance" at TomKat's wedding, she's rarely been seen since. "That child is growing up inside a bubble," a source tells Star. "I think both Dad and Katie are so worried that if Suri is exposed to the public, her life could be in danger."

But it's not pollution or sunburn that the guarded parents are afraid of -- it's potential kidnapping plots, the source told the mag. "The world was so obsessed with getting its first peek at Suri, I think Tom and Katie might have decided to keep her under wraps to prevent some wacko from trying to abduct her," the source says.

Considering other celeb offspring (like David Letterman's son and Victoria and David Beckham's three kids) were the objects of thwarted kidnapping plots, living cautiously makes sense. But let the kid out for air once in a while!

One thing's for sure: If Tom and Katie keep this up, Suri will grow up to be a certifiable nutbag.
