Damn, girl -- Britney Spears can't do anything right these days! She's trying to revive her failing career by recording a new album, but word on the street is that her efforts are for naught. The Britster has been working her tushy off in the studio (some nights until 4 a.m.), but while she likes the results, her record label doesn't. According to gossip maven, Cindy Adams, Jive Records has two options -- rerecord the album, or nix it and Brit.

It's not just the sub par album that's causing a problem, of course -- Britney's recent crazy behavior is only making matters worse. "Jive fears she's alienating her fan base. Their fan base," Cindy reports. "Jive caters to a young music-buyer, and the continued atmosphere -- drinking, bingeing, partying, whatevering, photos with no panties for a mother of two infants -- is hitting sour notes." Wait -- making a fool of herself in her supposed-to-be-redeeming Matt Lauer interview didn't tip them off that she was losing it?

Let's hope Britney shapes up before she's shipped out.
