We all know that Lindsay Lohan is set to be the new face of Miu Miu. But what you didn't know is that Jessica Simpson almost got the gig -- but her mane man, Ken Paves got in the way, according to Page Six. While Jess loves Ken, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott (the famed photogs who will shoot the campaign) definitely do not. "Ken Paves…is considered tacky and amateurish for high-fashion shoots," an insider says. "He's very 'Texas pageant hair.'" This isn't the first time that Jess has lost a job because of her devotion to Ken. A few months ago, Jess was scheduled for a cover story in Vanity Fair (which the same photographers were supposed to shoot), but it didn't pan out. "Being the professionals they are, [Mert and Marcus] wanted to bring in their own hair and make-up team, but Jessica said if they didn't use Ken, then she wasn't sitting for the shoot," the source says. "They felt snubbed." (When the shoot and story were canceled, the word on the street was that it was because Jess refused to talk about her split with Nick Lachey -- not true, says this insider.) Jessica's camp is staying pretty neutral with this one: "She could not have done the campaign anyway because she has her own clothing and shoe line," they said. Riiiight -- and Paris Hilton is a virgin.
