Offensive Tackle

What a difference two-and-a-half years makes! While they were partners in crime during the 2000 Super Bowl, Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson aren't playing for the same team anymore. While visiting Oprah recently, Janet wasn't so kind to J.T. when she discusses the infamous Nipplegate "costume reveal," and Justin is refusing to take this dis lying down. In fact, his part in Timbaland's new song, "Give It To Me" (which was leaked onto the Internet last week) dishes it out to an enemy, and people are saying the hater in question is Miss Jackson herself. "Could you speak up and stop mumbling?/I don't think you came in clear/When you're sitting on the top/it's hard to hear you from way up there/I saw you tryin' to act cute on TV/Just let me clear the air/We missed you on the charts last week/Damn that's right, you wasn't there," Justin spits in the cutting song that also features Nelly Furtado. Grammatical errors aside, that's some harsh stuff! Can't we all just get long?

While a source close to the album tells MTV that the lyrics aren't about Janet but about another successful pop artist, the connection seems a bit too uncanny to deny. (Janet used the exact phrase, "Just let me clear the air," in her Oprah interview.)
