She may not have won on American Idol, but Katharine McPhee sure wants to idolized. The songstress recently told Star magazine that she's there for Nicole Richie to discuss her weight issues. "I have sympathy and compassion for her," she says. "If she wants some extra support she can always call me." While Katharine's offer is surely nice and very appropriate (seeing as she fought bulimia for five years), talking to the tabloids about someone else's business is totally wrong. In fact, it sounds to us like she's just trying to get press for the December 5 release of her album. (Aw man, we fell right into that trap, didn't we?) Word of advice, Katharine: If you want to help Nicole, do it discreetly -- blabbing to the tabloids isn't the best way to go about it, no matter how sweet your motives may be.
